Retreats

Retreats are an intentional pause for a morning, a full day, or several days — a way of stepping out of ordinary rhythms to listen more deeply. They can be quiet and solitary, or shared with others in conversation and prayer.

Make space for rest, reflection, and renewal as you reconnect with yourself and the Divine.

Design Your Retreat Experience

To begin planning your retreat, I’ll meet with one person from your group for up to 45 minutes. Afterward, I’ll send ideas by email so we can shape the retreat together.

Explore Themes and Possibilities

Here are a few examples of retreat themes and experiences:

  • Spiritual Practices: After a brief introduction and resources, retreatants are invited into practices such as prayer, silence, solitude, contemplation, and rest.

  • Names for God: Explore the names and images you use for God, reflecting on what has shaped your faith and what may invite you into deeper relationship now.

  • Prayerful Planning: For ministry teams and church staff, this retreat offers space to prayerfully plan the next year, season, or program, with time for both individual and group discernment.

  • Discernment: For church leadership boards or other groups who want to frame a difficult discussion or decision with spiritual practices. These practices help you stay grounded, keep a God’s‑view perspective, and remain present to one another.

Relish the Rhythm

Retreats are planned with a gentle rhythm of time alone and time together. Participants are invited to engage at their own pace and comfort level, without pressure to perform or produce.

I lead in-person retreats for groups of 5 to 15 people for a half day, full day, or longer. You provide the people and the place.

“Your thoughtfulness and care were evident in each practice. Thank you for leading our staff retreat.” — Church of the Savior
