Frequently Asked Questions
No, not at all. I come from a Christian background and continue to follow Jesus, but I am glad to work with people of all faiths or no faith.
Yay! So am I! The Christian church has a history of rejecting queer people and negating queer identities. The Christian journey is generally enriched when done in community, but there may be times when this is not possible. Meeting with a spiritual director can help heal the hurt that has been done and realign your relationship with the Divine One who loves you and desires relationship with you.
Since "God" is a gendered word (if it wasn't, we wouldn't have the word, "goddess"), I have tried to find other language. I have to admit, while I'm talking I still usually say "God" (habits are hard to break!), but when writing, I try to use less specific language. I want to be sensitive to those who may need different language to be able to approach the Divine, and think it is good for me to be forced to think about the Divine in different ways. Surely God, the Holy One, Love Divine, the All in Everything cannot be contained in one word! When we meet together, I will use whatever word you would prefer.
